Trump, Mamdani and New York

Zohran Mamdani was elected mayor of New York on Tuesday, capping a stunning ascent for the 34-year-old, democratic socialist, who promised to transform city government to restore power to the working class and fight back against a hostile Trump administration.
Zohran Mamdani wasted little time after becoming mayor-elect of New York City before addressing the man who threatened to not only defund the city, but also to arrest and deport him if he won.
Zohran Mamdani is expected to take the reins of the largest city in the United States after Tuesday's general election. Some say his progressive politics may not translate to Democratic victory on a national level.
