LA Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia and his wife Kayla have announced the loss of their infant daughter, Sterling Sol Vesia, on social media.

Alex Vesia skipped the Dodgers' World Series victory parade in Los Angeles on Monday, Nov. 3 as he deals with a 'deeply personal family matter,' PEOPLE can confirm. The team announced Vesia would be taking time away ahead of the World Series last month.

As the Los Angeles Rams work toward their goal of winning another Super Bowl title, the Dodgers recently made the city proud by defeating the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2025 World Series.
