The reason behind it is the recent passing of former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, who died Monday due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease. He was 84 years old.
Hawai’i Gov. Josh Green ordered the U.S. flag and Hawaiʻi state flag be flown at half-staff at the Hawaiʻi state Capitol and at all state offices, agencies and Hawaiʻi National Guard throughout the islands, effective immediately, to honor the life and legacy of former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney.
