The White House said that the administration is "fully complying" with the court order to distribute SNAP benefits, despite a contradictory social media post from the president.
The clarification comes after the president threatened on Truth Social to withhold federal food aid funding until Democrats agree to reopen the government.
President Trump wrote on Truth Social that federal food benefits "will be given only when the Radical Left Democrats open up government, which they can easily do, and not before!"

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt walked back Trump’s comments that SNAP would only continue when the government reopens, clarifying that the administration will comply with a court order to at least partially fund the program.
Speaking from the White House, press secretary Karoline Leavitt said: "The administration is fully complying with that court order."
The USDA is providing states with about half the normal funding, requiring systems to be recalibrated. Federal officials and the White House have indicated that payments will be delayed for weeks or months. Food banks are preparing to assist but cannot fully cover the gap left by delayed SNAP benefits.
