The Dallas Cowboys defense has been a major disaster throughout the first two games of the 2025 NFL season. Dallas was hoping to slow down Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears offense on Sunday.
Dallas’ pass defense hit rock bottom in Week 3 as Chicago lit up Matt Eberflus’ unit, earning the Cowboys an unwelcome label from analysts.
Pickens did have a touchdown catch, but overall the Bears were able to contain the Cowboys’ passing attack. Prescott had been pushing the ball in tight windows the first two weeks. Against the Bears he often had to settle for underneath throws. Tight end Jake Ferguson was the leading receiver with 13 catches for 82 yards.
Cowboys legend Michael Irvin perfectly summed up what all of Cowboys Nation was feeling following the disappointing result of the game. On Instagram, he shared a clip of himself petting his dog Zeus, who was looking sad. Irvin connected it to the Cowboys’ loss, highlighting that his “buddy” knew how he was feeling.
